Custom LED Pendants

AYRE collaborated with HLB Lighting Design (http://hlblighting.com/), Gensler (https://www.gensler.com/) and Illuminate Vanguard (https://illuminatene.com/eastern/) to design and develop a unique lighting package for Putnam Investments and its newly renovated Boston-based headquarters.
The new global headquarters, located downtown in the financial district, will occupy 250,000 square feet of space. Through a collaborative workflow with these creative teams, we developed and produced statement fixtures for the gorgeous lobby space as well as the meeting rooms throughout the modern, world-class facility.
Each fixture was developed specifically for the space, creating the ideal light output and color for its intended function. Finishes were also color matched to other design elements and hardware in the room.
The Technology Bar located in the public area of the lobby, is home to a large multi pendant fixture. This fixture, located in a recessed ceiling, holds 200 pieces of a custom smoke gray glass. AYRE has developed and fine-tuned our process for creating large format multi-pendants and flush-mount fixtures to create clean and uniform installations from sub-assemblies. This supports an easy installation process from transporting fixtures, raising them up to the ceiling, and precise fixture placement. This particular design was made in 4 sections, creating a seamless appearance on the ceiling.
Integrated LED engines were fine-tuned with custom optics to allow light to spill into the glass diffusers without creating harsh shadows or hot spots on the glass or working surfaces below. The LED engine and its design execution were crucial as the flaws would have been multiplied across the reflective skin of the 200 glass diffusers.
The light output and placement of the fixture does not disrupt viewing the large digital screen located behind and below the fixture. Full dimming capabilities allow for fine tuning of the fixture for special events and the desired ambiance.

The Large Meeting Halls house a total of 8 large format LED pendants. Each pendant is located over a modular meeting table, which can be rearranged for special events. With this being a multi-purpose space, the pendants were required to have a range of output options.
With inner and outer diffusers, the custom LED engines can pump out 22,000 lumens each for task lighting during a meeting. When lighting a social event, the fixtures can dim down to .1%, providing the exact light required for the function.
The fixtures were developed with HLB to fit in a very particular cove ceiling living with a number of secondary light sources and tech accessories. Special considerations were also made not to obstruct lines of sight of projectors in the room.
These 7ft long pendants, also made in sub-assemblies, were a breeze for final assembly and installation on site.
